The islands
7 main islands surround the lagoon known as « la Chambre » (the chamber). These islands are Saint-Nicolas, Penfret, Loch, Cigogne, Drennec, Bananec and Guéotec.
The boats arrive at the main island, Saint-Nicolas. You’ll find 2 bars / restaurants, a diving centre and a few houses.
Centre Nautique (sailing school)
The « centre nautique des Glénan » is the largest sailing school in Europe with 14000 students and 860 monitors every year. It has bases on several islands in the archipelago. Great yachtsmen have trained here and worked as monitors.
Diving school
This outstanding site with its 5000 hectares of rocky massifs in pure waters is the ideal environment for scuba diving.
The Glénan Narcissus
The Glénan Narcissus is a highly protected native plant which you won’t find anywhere else in the world. It grows mainly on the isle of Saint-Nicolas although a few plants grow on the neighbouring islands.
Service providers
The archipelago, located approximately 10 nautical miles from Concarneau, is easy to reach as there are several boat companies offering a ferry service to and from the island, departing from Concarneau, Port La Forêt, Bénodet, Beg-Meil and Loctudy. Remember to book your tickets.
